Music: Selections from The Music Man, arranged by Drew Bonner for the Hawkeye Marching Band

Performance included a finale featuring 76 trombones, played by students of the HMB trombone section, student leaders from other sections in the band, and HMB staff and alumni.

TRIBUTE TO ELTON JOHN

A COLLABORATION WITH THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY MARCHING BAND

Show Concept: Eric W. Bush and Chris Hoch

Music: Elton John, arranged by Ted McDaniel, Iowa alumnus and Ohio State faculty emeritus

Performance featured both the Hawkeye Marching Band and The Ohio State University Marching Band in a historic, fully integrated, collaborative performance. It marked the first time in either band’s history, and in the history of the Big Ten conference, to take on a collaboration of this complexity and scale.

Music: Music from the Star Wars franchise; Rey and Kylo Ren’s themes and March of the Resistance from Episode VII: The Force Awakens, and the theme from The Mandalorian, arranged by Hawkeye Marching Band alumnus Blaine Schmidt (Class of 2021)

VIRTUAL PERFORMANCES PRODUCED DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Featuring the Hawkeye Marching Band’s traditional pregame, Rec Building Performance repertoire, The Series featuring the Hawkeye Drumline, two original halftime performances, the Hawkeye Victory Polka, and Alma Mater Iowa.

Also includes the “Virtual Iowa Fight Song” project, featuring Iowa students, faculty, staff, and administrators from Spring 2020.
